August Glossybox

Hey Guys,

This months Glossybox came alot earlier than usual but like always, I do enjoy coming home and seeing the Glossybox waiting for me :)

This month the theme of the box is International Superstars. They have selected products from around the world that are well-known in the UK and products that have cult status in their native country.

Here's what was in my Glossybox this month,

Alessandro Pro White - £7.85 (Germany) - Brightening effect nail polish with anti-yellow formula for radiant white and gleaming nails

Valentino Assoluto, Eau de Parfum - £61.00 Fullsize (Italy) - Seductive, intense, beautiful feminine fragrance by Valentino

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil - £18.5 Fullsize - (Japan) - This water-soluble cleanser is better than any other make-up remover you've ever tired.

Vera Valenti L'ombre a Paupiere Margarita - £3.85 Fullsize - (Spain) -  An eyeshadow palette offering a selection of ten different colours with an applicator included.

I do like the idea of the theme this month. Its always nice to try products from around the world. The product that's caught my eye is the deep cleansing oil. There's alot of these around at the moment so it would be good to try and see what it's like.

What do you think of my Glossybox? Did you get the same or get something different? Let me know :) xx

My new Make-Up storage

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone has had a nice week. At long last it is sunny, yey!! Hopefully this will continue into next week. I have finally got a week off work.

I mentioned in my last post that I popped into WH Smith the other day to  pick up a new Make-Up storage box. I've been after one for a while and when I saw this I wanted it immediately. Its a lovely black and white floral design and has enough drawers for me to put my Make-up in.

It has 3 smaller drawers on the top row, 2 medium size drawers in the medium row and one large draw at the bottom. Here is what I put in each drawer;

Top row of drawers

First drawer - Lipsticks
Second drawer - Lip gloss and lip balms
Third drawer - Concealers

Second row

First drawer - Blushers and powders
Second drawer - Foundations

Bottom Drawer

Eye make-up and primers

I am loving my new Make-up storage box. Really glad I brought it. It stores my Make-up away neatly and its now easier to find things. No more hunting around for my Make-Up.

What do you think of my Make-up storage? How do you store your Make-up? Let me know :) xx

Cosmopolitan Beauty Magazine

Hey Guys,

While I was in WHSmith getting my new beauty storage holder (I will do a post of this soon so keep a look out) I couldn’t help popping over to the magazine stand and having a look at the latest Celeb gossip. Whilst I was looking through various magazines, something caught my eye. I spotted a Cosmopolitan Beauty Magazine. Straight away I picked it up and had a quick flick through.

It’s a brand new beauty magazine that’s just been released this month. It gives you hints, tips and reviews on various beauty products ranging from hair products to make-up. It doesn’t just focus on high end products it covers everything from beauty on budget to the best high street brands.

At £5.99 some people my find this a tad bit expensive for a magazine but I can assure you that this is such a good quality magazine. There’s plenty of pictures, step by step how to guides and advice. Its definitely worth the money.

Have you seen this magazine yet and what have you thought? Let me know xx

Primark Haul

Hey Guys,

Yesterday, me and my sister took a drive to the White Rose shopping centre which is just outside of Leeds. One of the main reason's we went was because it has a Primark which York unfortunately doesn't have (maybe one day). Here's what I managed to pick up.

1. I have been after some maxi skirts for a while and as soon as I saw these they went straight into my basket. At £10 each their a bargain.

2. I'm loving the lose fitting, baggy tops which quite afew shops are doing at the moment. These are £6 each and loved the colours that they come in. They can be worn dress down with a pair of jeans or dressed up with either a smart pair of trousers or a skirt.

3. There was just something about these little pumps that I loved. I think its the design of them. I love the tartan look. They remind me of grandma's or granddad's slippers. At £4 you can't go wrong.

Now I have to point out, when I like something and it comes in several different colours, I have a habit of trying to get them in every colour if I can. Hence why I picked up two maxi skirts and two tops. But you have to admit, they are nice.

What do you think of my Primark haul? Have you brought anything nice from there recently? Let me know :) xx

July Favourites

Hey Guys,

I can't believe we're now in August. This year has just flown by. I'll be soon writing a blog about ideas for Christmas presents!!! Until that time comes here are my July favourites.

Alpha H Liquid Gold
I have been using this for the past month and I love it. I have done a review on this previously which you can read here. I use it on alternative nights as it can be abit overpowering for your skin. I feel like when I use this, my skin has this protective layer. Any spots that I have get smaller overnight and I haven't been getting any of the cyst type spots that I usually get. I can understand why this gets the reviews it does. I love it!!

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
Now I know I have only just done a review on this on my last blog here, but honestly I have been using this for afew weeks. I was just being abit lazy writing up my review of it. I could go on and on about how great this is. It covers everything and anything. I have had a couple of stubborn little spots that don't seem to want to disappear. But that doesn't seem to matter no more as with this it just covers them completely and they just vanish. If you're looking for a concealer then I can't recommend this enough.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Soft & Gentle
I bought this back in May and its still my go to powder. It sets my make-up really well and provides my face with lovely finish. I have tried afew others powders since getting this but nothing has been close to how good this is.

Osmo Berber Oil - Hair Treatment
I am a big fan of hair oil's now and this is what started it for me. I won't go on about this too much as you can read my review of this here about how great this is. For me with someone with fine hair, this just helps it look and feel fuller and it doesn't get as greasy. Once I've finished this bottle I will definitely be repurchasing.

What do you think of my July Favourites? Have you used any of them? What have been your favourites? Let me know :) xx

Laura Mercier Secret Camourflage

This has been on my wish list since I first started my blog. It’s a favourite amongst A-listers and recently it was voted the best concealer in the In-Style awards. This just made me want it more.

Now you may have read in my previous post that York has finally got a Laura Mercier counter and when I was looking round I couldn’t resit getting my hands on this!!

The Secret Camouflage contains a unique two-shade palette. One is to match the skins depth of colour and one to match the skin undertone. It claims that because of this two-shade system it makes is possible for everyone to custom-blend their own prefect shade.

The nice SA lady recommended that I use the SC-2 shade and showed me how to apply it. She said that using a small concealer brush, mix the two shades together and then apply to the areas you want coverage.

Now usually with the concealers I have been using in the past they have provided coverage but I was never really 100% happy. I would still feel self-conscious about the blemishes I have. But this concealer is totally different. I pop the concealer onto my blemishes and it just covers them like a dream. Yes they’re still there but I feel so much more confident.

It blends so well and it you can build up coverage without looking cakey. And a little goes a long way.

I can totally see why this gets the reviews and awards it does. It’s just so amazing. At £26.00. It is one of the expensive concealers out there and usually I wouldn’t want to spend this much on a concealer. But because of the amazing results you get, I feel this justifies the price. After waiting what like seems an eternity to get this, I can now happily say its now has pride and place in my Make-up bag.

Have any of you guys used this and what have you thought? Let me know  x

MAC and Laura Mercier– Finally arrive in York!!!

While I love living York one of the downsides is that unfortunately we don’t really get the big names in our shops. If you want any of these then you have to go to Leeds. While I don’t mind getting the bus or train sometimes you just want to quickly pop into town.

Well recently the Fenwick store in York has being having a major make over. Its now stocks Ren skincare, Nail’s Inc and has a Clains beauty spa. But the main thing that has got me excited it that there is now a MAC and Laura Mercier counter!!!!

Now I couldn’t look round without picking up afew little treats for my myself.

From MAC I got a Frost Lipstick in Fresh Moroccan and a Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. And from Laura Mercier I picked up the Secret Concealer.

While im so excited that we now how 2 great brands in York, I think my bank account will soon think it’s a negative thing xx

July's Glossybox

Hey Guys,

So what did I get in this months Glossybox...

HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette - Fullsize £19.95 - Can't express how excited I was when I saw this. I've read on so many blogs how amazing this set is. Can not wait to start using this.

CLYNOL Enrich Colour Shampoo - Fullsize £9.35 - This is the same brand that my hairdresses use. I can imagine that every time I use this I will think that I have just had my hair done professional.

MONU Golden Glow - Fullsize £23.00 - I've never heard of this brand before but I always like trying new things. This claims to provides a safe, natural-looking tan in just 3-5 hours. Perfect to try out now the weather is getting nice.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting - Fullsize £10.00 - This is prefect to have in your make-up bag. as it does two jobs. Provides your lips with a tint of colour and adds an luminous glow to your checks. Definitely be putting this in my make-up bag this month.

Elizabeth Arden Visible Differenece Skin Balancing Lotion SPF15 - Fullsize £32.00 - This is an oil-free lotion that helps protect the skin from UVA/UVB rays and pollution. My skin always goes haywire during the summer so hopefully this will help keep it under control.

BONUS PRODUCT!!

Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Skincare for Combination Skin - I got 3 sample sizes from the Visible Difference range. Never used any Elizabeth Arden products before so this will be a nice welcome to the brand.

Overall I am happy with this month's Glossybox. My favourite product will have to be the HD Brow even tho I haven't even used it yet. I'm expecting high things from it. Hopefully I won't be disappointed.

What did you get in this month's Glossybox. let me know :) xx

Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend? After months of rain it is finally sunny!!!

As part of me wanting to improve my skincare routine and my skin I have recently purchased the Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate. As with most of Liz Earle products this got great reviews.

It claims to soften dry and mature skin and help balance combination or oily skin.

You apply it after cleansing and toning. Pump about a 5 pence piece amount onto the pads of your fingers and then rub it between your fingertips to warm up. Then apply it to your skin with upward and outward movements. If you suffer from dry skin follow with you choice of moisturiser but if your like me and suffer with combination to oily skin use alone to help balance and soothe you skin.

I've been using this for about a month now and since then I can say that my skin feels more pumped up and more even looking. Before using this I had two cysts type spots on my chin and nothing was making them go. But after using this on my skin the spots got smaller and eventually disappeared.

While I love this and would definitely be purchasing again, the one thing that I'm not a fan of is the smell. Its quite a strong lavender fragrance. I don't mind the smell of lavender but to me this seems abit overpowering. But after rubbing it into your skin and letting it sink in, the lavender slowly disappears. Because I love this product so much I can live with this negative.

This comes is three sizes. A 28ml bottle for £40.25, a 10ml roller-ball for £19.75 and a 2ml little tester for £5.75. If you're not too sure then I would recommend the little tester bottle as £40 and even £20 is alot to pay for something if you turn out not to like it.

I purchased mine from QVC which has the best policy where if you don't like something and its even been used you can return it within 30 days for a full money back guarantee. You can also purchase this from the Liz Earle website and John Lewis stores.

Have you tried the Liz Earle Superskin and what have thought of it? Let me know :) xx

Osmo Berber Oil - Hair Treatment

Hey Guys,

I received this in May's glossybox and I have been waiting patiently to use it while I have finishing off my current hair treatment. When I first saw it was so excited. People have been raving about hail oils and how they work wonders on your hair. If im honest, I have always been abit unsure about oil for hair. I expected that adding oil to your hair would make it look really greasy. I have quite fine hair and this is the last thing I would want for my hair. But I decided to give it ago and hope for the best and I can say that im glad I did.

This has been the best thing I have ever used on my hair. Since using it my hair seems fuller, looks shinier and doesn't go as greasy during the day like it usual does.

I apply about a 5 pence amount onto my finger tips and then rub it into damp hair. I then section my hair and blow dry it. While my usual styling product just left my hair looking OK this leaves my hair looking fantastic. It kind of makes my feel like I have had my hair blow dried at a hairdresses!!!

I think I am now convinced by hair oils and once I have used this I will be purchasing again.

Have you tried any hair oils and what have you thought? Are there any you would recommend? Let me know :) xx

Alpha-H Liquid Gold

Hey Guys,

Recently I have been thinking that my skin needs an extra boost as it hasn't been in the best condition  recently. I've been feeling abit run down and unfortunately my skin has suffered :(

After reading other blogs and reviews one product that seemed to get mentioned quite alot and that was the Alpha-H Liquid Gold.

It's enriched with natural glycolic acid which helps promotes brighter, smoother looking skin and improves the appearance of skin.

How to use
You use this as a toner and apply after you have cleansed BUT you apply it on alternating nights, not every night like you would do a usual toner. Once you have applied it using a cotton wool pad that's it. DO NOT apply anything else to your face. To get the full benefit of this product, its recommended that you do not apply any serums or moisturisers after. For me this is the hardest bit. It feels really alien not applying a serum, moisturiser and then a spot treatment. But if the reviews are anything to go by then these are definitely worth sacrificing to make this work.

I have used this twice since I got it through the post the other day and I think I can already see abit of a difference in my skin. It might only be abit of an improvement but I'm thinking positive things about this product.

I purchased the Alpha-H (supersize 200ml) from the QVC website. At the moment it is priced at £36.76, which is really good considering the 100ml size is around £28.00, and is currently on free p&p. The best thing about QVC is that they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, even if you have used it. So you are unsure about this then I would recommend purchasing this from them.

Have you used Alpha H Liquid Gold and what did you think? Let me know :) xx

June Favourites

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
This has become a firm favourite of bloggers and a certain Mrs Beckham and you can see why. I use mine as a toner and it has definitely helped calm my skin down and tighten the pores. It also acts as a great skin pick me up when you find that you skin is lagging during the day.

Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate
Been wanting to try this for a while and when I saw it on QVC for 2 easy payments I popped into my basket straight away. I use this after my toner and before my moisturiser. You can use it instead of a moisturiser but I feel weird not putting a moisturiser on. Since using it, I feel that my skin looks more pumped up and has improved my skin tone. I'm not a fan of the smell but it soon disappears when you rub it into your skin.

17 Photo Flawless Primer
I have been testing a few primers recently and this one for me has come out on top. It is great at providing a lovely smooth matt finish on your skin and Make-Up just glides on with ease. My Make-Up lasts all day when I use this and keeps shine at bay. Its one of the cheapest primers around, £4.99 from boots, its a definite must have.

Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective tester set.
I got this sample pack in last month’s glossybox. From the testers I have been mostly using the Opal shade. I think its one of the best products that helps to cover up blemishes. At £19.00 for the full size version, its one of the cheaper high coverage concealers/foundation that are on offer. If you do have dry I wouldn't recommend using this as it doesn't cover dry areas that well but for everything else its a must have product.

Real Techniques deluxe crease brush
This is the brush from the starter set pack. I have been using this to help buff in my concealer and its fantastic. I apply the concealer using my finger tips and then use this to blend the concealer into my skin and your left with a nice even coverage. Don't think I could live without this brush.

What do you think of my June favourites? Have you used any of these and what do you think? Let me know :0 xx

Graze Box

Hey Guys, usually when I get leaflets in magazines I throw them straight in the bin but this time, when I got leaflets in the recent copy of Cosmo one of them stood out for me. It was a promotion leaflet that gave Cosmo readers a chance to get a free Graze Box.

I have seen people at work who have some of these boxes and its always intrigued me but I never gave it much thought. But when I got this leaflet I thought it was a chance to try it out.

So what is a graze box? Graze is a company that send nutritious snacks by post. You are sent 2 boxes a week and you can pick what day you want them to be delivered. It coses £3.75 which I think is very reasonable. The boxes aren't that big, but each box is split into 4 portions which are perfect to carry round with you so you can snack on instead of reaching for that chocolate bar. They have around 100 different foods that you can try and rate. If there's something you fancy and want to try, simply click the try button underneath the picture they will send it to you.

What I got in my graze box? Cherry Tomato, Basil and Puglian Pesto Focaccia;  Hot Cross Yum - sponge pieces, cinnamon and honey almonds and orange infused sultanas;  Lost Army - oriental cracker mix with peanut crackers;  Tropical Sundae - pineapple, mango and banana coins.

I think this a fantastic idea. There are many times at work, around the 3 o'clock time, when I am tempted by a chocolate bar. I think having these in my bag will definitely stop me going to the vendor!

If you do fancy giving this a go, click here and take a look at their website to find out more.

What do you think of the graze box? Have you tried it? Let me know :) xx

Origins Super Spot Remover

Hey Guys,

On my quest for the best spot treatment, I recently purchased the Origins Super Spot Remover. Fellow bloggers have raved about how good it is.  I must admit, I have always been put off buying this as it costs £12 for such a small bottle. I didn't think it was good value. But after reading the reviews I decided to go for it.

It claims to heal, fight and fade spots/blemishes fast. As it contains Salicylic Acid it instantly helps speed healing while anti-spot technology helps visible correct post blemish darkening. This ticks 2 boxes that I want a spot treatment to do. It helps fade blemish marks and helps spots disappear.

I've had two cyst type spots on my jaw and neck that I've had for a couple of weeks. I've tired everything to make them disappear but nothing has worked. I thought this would be the perfect time to test out the Origins Spot Remover. I did my usual routine, cleansed, toned and moisturise, then I put a dap of the gel onto my spots.

Now I have to be honest, I wasn't holding out much hope but when I woke the next morning the cyst type spots had gone down in size and redness. I couldn't believe it. After trying so many treatments to make them disappear I had finally found something that worked.

Now I'm not saying that this makes spots disappear completely, but it defiantly makes them less angry looking and less smaller.

I can fully understand why bloggers rave about this. I can't believe its taken me so long to jump on the band wagon :)

Have you tired Origins Super Spot Remover and what have you thought? Let me know :) xx

Glossybox - June Edition

Hey Guys,

Its that time again when you get a lovely parcel through the post. Its Glossybox time!! :)

I always get excited when I get home and see this little box waiting on the side. I don't even say hi to anyone. I open it straight away.

So what was in my Glossybox this month?

Glossybox Serie Exclusive Pro Beauty Brush - RRP: £15.00 - I do like a Make-Up brush so this will fit in nicely to my current collection. Think this will make a nice blusher brush.

HD Brows Precision Tweezers - Fullsize - £19.95 - At the moment I currently have Tweezerman tweezers and they do the job nicely but these seem to be the same sort of quality. Always read and hear really good reviews about HD products so looking forward to using these.

BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer - Fullsize - £8.00 - I haven't ever used any BM products so this is a new one for me. I have also been looking for a bronzer so this kills 2 birds with 1 stone. I get to try a new Make-Up brand and I have a bronzer. Win win!

Caudalie Eaux Fraiches - Fullsize £26.00 - Big fan of Caudalie products so very happy with this. I got the Zeste De Vigne fragrance. It has a lovely smell. Very fresh and summery. Great to carry round in your handbag.

Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick - Fullsize £19.00 - Now this is what I am most excited about. I have been looking at purchasing this foundation stick for the past week to help cover my acne scares/blemishes but wasn't really too sure about the shade. With the starter kit sample I received I get to try all 6 shades!! Can't wait to start using this. Fingers crossed its a winner.

What do you think of my Glossybox treats? I am really impressed with the products this month. I think so far this has been the best box for me this year.

Did you get anything nice in your Glossybox this month? Let me know :) xx

What to buy with my No7 Voucher

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is having a good week? Really wish the weather would improve. Hate all this rain :(

Its that time again when Boots are handing out the £5 off voucher on No7 products. I've never really bought any No7 products before so when I get given these I always struggle to use them. At the moment I have 4 vouchers and this time I'm determining to use them.

After looking online and in store at the No7 counter, I've seen afew products that I think might be worthy of me spending my voucher. These are;

No7 Poppy King Lip Crayon - Raindrops Collection
 £11.50. With voucher £6.50
No7 Beautifully Balanced Purifying Cleanser for Oily/Combination Skin
                                        £8.00, With voucher £3.00

No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water for Normal Oily Skin
£9.00. With voucher £4.00

No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mouse

Would do you think of these No7 products? Have you used any of them and would you recommend them? Let me know :) xx

Recent Purchases

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend? Can't believe how much the weather has changed in the past couple of weeks. The other week we were having lovely sunny days and now you can't go out without ending up looking like a drowned rat!!!

So to cheer myself up because of all the bad weather, I have treated myself to afew little treats.

Estee Lauder Daywear Oil-Free Moisturiser - I love the non oil-free version of this moisturiser but as I have oily/combination skin, it didn't really do anything for my skin. When I saw that they had released an oil-free version I knew I had to have it.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Oil Free - This is a product I've had on my wish list for a while. It is quite expensive and alot more than I would normally pay for a primer but its gets such good reviews and awards its something that I knew I had to have.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free - As its getting towards summer and hopefully nice sunny weather, I don't really want to wear a full face of  foundation. After reading reviews on what tinted moisturiser was best this came out top. And being oil free its perfect for me.

Garnier Pure Active Spot-On Roll-On and Origins Super Spot Remover - I've been experimenting recently on different spot treatments. These are the latest ones to add to my collection. The Garnier Spot-On Roll-On claims to help fight spots and fade marks. The Origins Super Spot Remover always gets good reviews from other bloggers so I thought I would give it a go. Plus it comes in a cute little bottle :)

MUA Love Heart Lip Balms - When I first saw these released afew months back I wanted them straight away. Unfortunately, every Superdrug I went into never ever had them. Finally when I was in Manchester the other week I popped into Superdrug and there they were. I think I actually ran, picked them up and went straight to the till. Only trouble is I think they are too nice to use!!!

What do you think of my recent purchases? Have you used any of them? Let me know :) xx

Bioderma Solution

Hey Guys,

After reading so many blogs rave about the Bioderma solution I thought I would try it out myself and see what the fuss was all about.

One of the main reason's why I wanted to give this ago was that I want to try and improve my skincare routine. Usually to remove my Make-Up I just use the Simple face wipes. I know some people will think this is the worse thing ever and I can understand where they're coming from but I just find them quick and easy to use. I do feel that these don't really bring anything to my skincare routine so I am willing to try out new products and improve my skin.

Now instead of going for the Bioderma solution with the pink top which alot of people have gone for, this is the one suitable for sensitive skin, I decided to choose the Bioderma solution with the green top which is suitable for combination or oil skin. As I wasn't too sure how my skin would react to this I decided to get the 100ml size as a tester. I ordered this from ebay for £8.25, which included postage. I can't recommend this ebay seller enough. I ordered this on a Friday and by Monday I had the product in my hands.

What it claims
Bioderma innovation, Sébium H2O gently cleanses the skin without drying it, through the micro-emulsion of impurities and excess sebum.
How to use
Soak a cotton pad with Sébium H2O and cleanse your face. Repeat the application until the cotton pad remains clean.
What I think
All I can say is WOW. I can see why people love this. Its absolutely amazing. I started using this the night I got it and the next morning I could see an improvement in my skin. I've had a couple of spots that have been under the skin for a while and since using this they have disappeared. It usually takes about 3-4 cotton pads to remove all my Make-Up. Once I have removed my Make-Up my skin feels so clean and refreshed. My skin glows. I have definitely been converted from using facial wipes. Once I have used my 100ml version I  will be buying the 500ml bottle without hesitation.

If you haven't tried any of the Bioderma solutions then you must. I can't recommend them enough :) xx

May Favourites

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the 4 day break? Just a shame that the lovely sunny weather has gone :(

Here are my favourite products for May

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control 3-in-1 daily cleansing lotion - This used to be a staple in my skincare routine last year and I don't know why I stopped using it. For the past few months my skin has been up and down. Since I have started using this again my skin has calmed down alot and I only get afew spots now compared to what I was getting. A must have for blemished prone skin.

Simple rapid action spot zapper - When I got get a spot this is my go to spot treatment.I apply this to the spot on a night and by morning is has reduced in size and made the redness has disappeared. And as its a Simple product its kind to your skin wrong dry it out.

MAC Select Cover Up Concealer - I have been experimenting with different concealers recently but have found myself going back to my reliable MAC concealer. Its light-weight, provides good coverage and easy to blend. I actually feel guilty for trying to replace it. This concealer is now back in my Make-Up bag.

Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing and Advanced Night Repair - Really can't explain how since using this two products they have improved the condition of my skin. I feel that if I don't use these my skin actually misses them. I will be doing a more in depth review of these soon so keep a look out for that. They are definitely worth the money.

What have been your favourites for May? Let me know :) xx

cor silver soap - one week on

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the lovely sunshine? Fingers crossed it stays like this for my little trip to Manchester later in the week.

If you remember a week ago I stated to use the cor silver soap as my skin has just been awful recently. I had heard good reviews about this product but I didn't want to get my hopes up so I started using this with an open mind.

I purchased the 10g (trial size) and I have been using this morning and night for the past week and I probably have another week and a half left of the soap. I would definitely recommend that if you're wanting to try this then get the trial size to make sure this is for you.

I was worried at first using this as I have found some soaps really dry out the skin but this isn't like your normal soaps. This contains ingredients which helps even out the skin tone, reduces the appearance of sun spots and pore size.

I lathered up the soap and massaged it into my skin. I carefully worked it into the area which is causing me the most concern, my chin and jaw. For best results it recommends that you leave the soap on your skin to settle and soak in for about a minute . I did this morning and night. After I had used the cor I followed with toning and moisturising.

The Results
Hmmm, I have to say I am still on the fence about this. Since using it I have found that I haven't been getting as many spots, but I'm still getting some. The spots I did have before using this have reduced in size but haven't really disappeared. And I haven't really seen an improvement in my skin tone.

I still have some of the cor soap left so I think I will continue to use this until its all gone. I'm still hoping that this will improve my skin but if I can't really see an improvement I don't think I will be re-purchasing and my search for a good cleanser will continue.

Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

Hey Guys,

At long last the sun is finally out!!! For the past few days its been so so nice. Its such a shame that I have had to been stuck at work :( Fingers crossed that next when I have a couple of days off its still nice.

Unfortunately, cos of the nice sunny weather this has had an effect on my skin. Its been getting oily and my Make- Up been looking like it will slowly slide off. So to help with the oil I have been using the Kleenex Absorbing Sheets.

These are quite new on the market. I bought these a while ago when they were on offer in Tesco. Usually they retail at £2.99. They claim to "dab away excess oil and keep your make-up intact". They come in a nice little pack so they can easily be carried around in your Make-Up bag. You don't get your usual bland boating sheets. These ones are cute purple sheets. You get a nice flowery design on one side and a plain side (which is the side you use to blot your skin) on the other.

What do I think?
I applied my Make-Up and cycled to work (I'm trying to be healthy and save money) When I got to work I could feel the oil/sweaty feeling on my skin. I dreaded looking at the state of my face. I looked in the mirror and my Make-Up up appeared OK. God bless you Double Wear!! But my skin did looked oily/sweaty. So I stated blotting my face with paper. These wipes made the oiliness disappear and made my skin loot matt again. After a couple more daps my skin was back to looking normal.

I was really impressed with this bloting sheets. I have always been abit unsure about blotting papers and thought that they were a waste of money. But after trying these I would definitely recommend that you use them. Especially now that the weather is getting nicer.

Have you tired these or any other blotting papers? What have you thought of them? Let me know :) xx

Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover

Hey Guys,

I can’t tell you how long I have wanted this. Everytime I went into the dept store I used to test every single shade to find the one that suited me. I had heard such great reviews about how it covers acne scares, nasty sports and redness and I wanted it.

The other month Estee Lauder had a bonus time and I thought to myself that if I don’t get it now I never will. So I went along and I picked up another bottle the double wear foundation (my HG foundation) and asked the SA lady to help me with the colour for the maximum cover . First of all she asked me with a worried tone if I was going to be using it as a foundation. I assured her I was just going to use it as a concealer to help with my blemishes as I wanted something that had abit more coverage and staying power. She relaxed and then tested some of the colours on me. The one I went for was creamy vanilla.

I couldn’t wait to start using this. As soon as I got home I put some of it straight onto the problem areas. (I have some scars on my jaw/chin. Everytime I get spots here they have been leaving scars )

What it Claims
"Soothing, natural-looking, liquid-creme makeup for concealing all skin imperfections, including surgical and acne scars, birthmarks, sun spots and varicose veins."

What I think
I have to be honest and it breaks my heart to say but im disappointed in this. From the hype I was expecting miracles. It covered my scares and spots OK but I think I could find a better alternative concealer on the high street and for a lot cheaper. This costs £26.50 which is quite expensive and for paying that much I would want it to do the job. Unlike my other concealers where I can build up the coverage without it looking cakey, you can’t do that with this. If you apply more that one layer you’re left with this awful cakey finish. Not nice. If you do apply more of the product to your face I found it really had to blend. It seemed to dry quite quickly. And never use this over dry skin. It will look horrible and it will leave you with flaky skin!!!!!!!!

Will I buy again
I don’t think I will buy this again. I think there are other alternatives out there that will do the job better and for more that half the price. I am glad I bought it as I had always wanted to try it. It’s just a shame that it didn’t live up to my high expectations.

Have you tired the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover? What did you think? Were you disappointed like me? Let me know xx

A bit of a disappointment :(

Hey Guys,

I have always wanted to try a Bourjois foundation as they always get good reviews. When I was in Boots the other week and saw that their new foundation, Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, was on offer I thought its now or never.

It contains 3 colour correcting pigments;
1 - Yellow pigments - conceals dark circles for a rest look
2 - Mauve pigments - correct dullness for radiance
3 - Green pigments - neutralises redness for an even out the complexion

This ticks all the boxes I want from a foundation. I decided to go for shade 52. I couldn't wait to try it so the next day I used this instead of my beloved Estee Lauder Double wear foundation.

The next morning I followed the same skincare steps as normal and applied the foundation using my lovely real Techniques strippling brush.

The first thing I noticed when I started to apply the foundation was that the coverage wasn't as full as I normally like. I needed to apply several coats until I was fully happy with it. It covered the blemishes I had OK but I needed to apply quite abit of concealer until they weren't as noticeable. It's quite water based so maybe this could have been the problem I was having.

After finishing applying my powder and blusher etc I set off for work. At lunch time I went to the toilet and checked my face and was horrified by what I saw. My foundation had completely worn off. It was like it had melted away!! Lucky for me I decided to put my double wear foundation in my Make-Up bag that day so I quickly applied it.

I was so disappointed that this had not worked for me. I love my high end foundation but sometimes I can't always afford them and was looking for a high street foundation that I could use when I don't have much money.

I am hoping that this is just a one off and that there is a high street foundation out there that will work for me. I have got my eye on a couple more I want to try so hopefully in the next week or so I will give these ago and have some good news.

Do you use any high street foundation? Which one's have worked for you? Let me know :) xx

My Skin Saviour???

Hey Guys,

To say my skin has been horrible recently would be an understatement. Its been red, spotty and just really awful. I have tried everything. I've changed my cleanser, toner, moisturiser and spot treatments and nothing seems to work!!!

After reading a couple of peoples reviews about what has worked for them one product seem to pop up afew times. This was the cor silver soap.

I ordered the trail size (10g) for £15.00 from the website and it came today. Very excited.

I am now gonna be using it for the next week. Hopefully in a weeks time I will have some good news.

Fingers crossed!!!

Have you had trouble with your skin? What have you used to help clear it up? Let me know :) xx
