cor silver soap - one week on

Hey Guys,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the lovely sunshine? Fingers crossed it stays like this for my little trip to Manchester later in the week.

If you remember a week ago I stated to use the cor silver soap as my skin has just been awful recently. I had heard good reviews about this product but I didn't want to get my hopes up so I started using this with an open mind.

I purchased the 10g (trial size) and I have been using this morning and night for the past week and I probably have another week and a half left of the soap. I would definitely recommend that if you're wanting to try this then get the trial size to make sure this is for you.

I was worried at first using this as I have found some soaps really dry out the skin but this isn't like your normal soaps. This contains ingredients which helps even out the skin tone, reduces the appearance of sun spots and pore size.

I lathered up the soap and massaged it into my skin. I carefully worked it into the area which is causing me the most concern, my chin and jaw. For best results it recommends that you leave the soap on your skin to settle and soak in for about a minute . I did this morning and night. After I had used the cor I followed with toning and moisturising.

The Results
Hmmm, I have to say I am still on the fence about this. Since using it I have found that I haven't been getting as many spots, but I'm still getting some. The spots I did have before using this have reduced in size but haven't really disappeared. And I haven't really seen an improvement in my skin tone.

I still have some of the cor soap left so I think I will continue to use this until its all gone. I'm still hoping that this will improve my skin but if I can't really see an improvement I don't think I will be re-purchasing and my search for a good cleanser will continue.

Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets

Hey Guys,

At long last the sun is finally out!!! For the past few days its been so so nice. Its such a shame that I have had to been stuck at work :( Fingers crossed that next when I have a couple of days off its still nice.

Unfortunately, cos of the nice sunny weather this has had an effect on my skin. Its been getting oily and my Make- Up been looking like it will slowly slide off. So to help with the oil I have been using the Kleenex Absorbing Sheets.

These are quite new on the market. I bought these a while ago when they were on offer in Tesco. Usually they retail at £2.99. They claim to "dab away excess oil and keep your make-up intact". They come in a nice little pack so they can easily be carried around in your Make-Up bag. You don't get your usual bland boating sheets. These ones are cute purple sheets. You get a nice flowery design on one side and a plain side (which is the side you use to blot your skin) on the other.

What do I think?
I applied my Make-Up and cycled to work (I'm trying to be healthy and save money) When I got to work I could feel the oil/sweaty feeling on my skin. I dreaded looking at the state of my face. I looked in the mirror and my Make-Up up appeared OK. God bless you Double Wear!! But my skin did looked oily/sweaty. So I stated blotting my face with paper. These wipes made the oiliness disappear and made my skin loot matt again. After a couple more daps my skin was back to looking normal.

I was really impressed with this bloting sheets. I have always been abit unsure about blotting papers and thought that they were a waste of money. But after trying these I would definitely recommend that you use them. Especially now that the weather is getting nicer.

Have you tired these or any other blotting papers? What have you thought of them? Let me know :) xx

Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover

Hey Guys,

I can’t tell you how long I have wanted this. Everytime I went into the dept store I used to test every single shade to find the one that suited me. I had heard such great reviews about how it covers acne scares, nasty sports and redness and I wanted it.

The other month Estee Lauder had a bonus time and I thought to myself that if I don’t get it now I never will. So I went along and I picked up another bottle the double wear foundation (my HG foundation) and asked the SA lady to help me with the colour for the maximum cover . First of all she asked me with a worried tone if I was going to be using it as a foundation. I assured her I was just going to use it as a concealer to help with my blemishes as I wanted something that had abit more coverage and staying power. She relaxed and then tested some of the colours on me. The one I went for was creamy vanilla.

I couldn’t wait to start using this. As soon as I got home I put some of it straight onto the problem areas. (I have some scars on my jaw/chin. Everytime I get spots here they have been leaving scars )

What it Claims
"Soothing, natural-looking, liquid-creme makeup for concealing all skin imperfections, including surgical and acne scars, birthmarks, sun spots and varicose veins."

What I think
I have to be honest and it breaks my heart to say but im disappointed in this. From the hype I was expecting miracles. It covered my scares and spots OK but I think I could find a better alternative concealer on the high street and for a lot cheaper. This costs £26.50 which is quite expensive and for paying that much I would want it to do the job. Unlike my other concealers where I can build up the coverage without it looking cakey, you can’t do that with this. If you apply more that one layer you’re left with this awful cakey finish. Not nice. If you do apply more of the product to your face I found it really had to blend. It seemed to dry quite quickly. And never use this over dry skin. It will look horrible and it will leave you with flaky skin!!!!!!!!

Will I buy again
I don’t think I will buy this again. I think there are other alternatives out there that will do the job better and for more that half the price. I am glad I bought it as I had always wanted to try it. It’s just a shame that it didn’t live up to my high expectations.

Have you tired the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover? What did you think? Were you disappointed like me? Let me know xx

A bit of a disappointment :(

Hey Guys,

I have always wanted to try a Bourjois foundation as they always get good reviews. When I was in Boots the other week and saw that their new foundation, Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, was on offer I thought its now or never.

It contains 3 colour correcting pigments;
1 - Yellow pigments - conceals dark circles for a rest look
2 - Mauve pigments - correct dullness for radiance
3 - Green pigments - neutralises redness for an even out the complexion

This ticks all the boxes I want from a foundation. I decided to go for shade 52. I couldn't wait to try it so the next day I used this instead of my beloved Estee Lauder Double wear foundation.

The next morning I followed the same skincare steps as normal and applied the foundation using my lovely real Techniques strippling brush.

The first thing I noticed when I started to apply the foundation was that the coverage wasn't as full as I normally like. I needed to apply several coats until I was fully happy with it. It covered the blemishes I had OK but I needed to apply quite abit of concealer until they weren't as noticeable. It's quite water based so maybe this could have been the problem I was having.

After finishing applying my powder and blusher etc I set off for work. At lunch time I went to the toilet and checked my face and was horrified by what I saw. My foundation had completely worn off. It was like it had melted away!! Lucky for me I decided to put my double wear foundation in my Make-Up bag that day so I quickly applied it.

I was so disappointed that this had not worked for me. I love my high end foundation but sometimes I can't always afford them and was looking for a high street foundation that I could use when I don't have much money.

I am hoping that this is just a one off and that there is a high street foundation out there that will work for me. I have got my eye on a couple more I want to try so hopefully in the next week or so I will give these ago and have some good news.

Do you use any high street foundation? Which one's have worked for you? Let me know :) xx

My Skin Saviour???

Hey Guys,

To say my skin has been horrible recently would be an understatement. Its been red, spotty and just really awful. I have tried everything. I've changed my cleanser, toner, moisturiser and spot treatments and nothing seems to work!!!

After reading a couple of peoples reviews about what has worked for them one product seem to pop up afew times. This was the cor silver soap.

I ordered the trail size (10g) for £15.00 from the website and it came today. Very excited.

I am now gonna be using it for the next week. Hopefully in a weeks time I will have some good news.

Fingers crossed!!!

Have you had trouble with your skin? What have you used to help clear it up? Let me know :) xx

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher

Hey Guys,

I was getting bored of my current blusher and wanted to try something new. After looking through the stands in Boots I decided to go for the Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher.

This blusher always gets rave reviews and I can now see why. I don't know why I haven't bought this before. I absolutely love it.

The packaging of it is just so lovely. It has a mirror inside the lid and comes with a little blusher brush. I know some people are not too sure about the blush. Some think its too small and abit scratchy but I think its great. As its a curved applicator brush I find its great to apply the colour and its really handy for when your on the go when you want to do touch ups. But I can honestly say that after I have applied this in the morning and check my face during the day, I have never had to do any touch up's. It lasts that long!

They come in a great range of shades and the colour are really highly pigmented. You can build the colour up or down and is easily bendable.

Im abit funny about how Make-Up smells sometimes and have found when I've applied funny smelly Make-up to my face I hate the fact I am wearing it. But you don't get that with this product as this smells amazing.

I would give this blusher 10 out of 10 and would definitely consider buying other Bourjois Blusher Pot's. I want them all!!

Have you tried any of the Bourjois Blusher Pot's What have you thought. Let me know :) xx

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge

This has been a lust of mine for awhile. Its constantly wining awards for best blusher and a must have for celebs Make-Up bags. I have wandered past my local Bobbi Brown counter so many times thinking "should I or shouldn't I" But while out wandering at lunch time I decided to go for it and bought myself a little pot.

I was struggling to decide what colour to choose so the kind SA offered to test afew colours on me to see which one suited me best. The blushes come in a great range of colours so it was hard to pick. In the end the colour I went for was Powder Pink

I have used several brands of creme blusher but this one has definitely taken the top spot. Its so creamy and blends like a dreams. It leaves you with a lovely dewy finish on your skin. You can build up the colour of the blush so you can decide if you want a light or a more fuller colour.

With other creme blushes I have found that the colour doesn't tend to last that long. It usually disappears after a couple of hours. With this one I've found it last
nearly all day. I very rarely have to touch up.

Not only can you use this on your checks you can also use it on your lips. I have to be honest, when I've tried this I wasn't really impressed. It did provide a glossy lip colour but it didn't last for long. The colour soon disappeared after eating and drinking. I think I will stick to my usual gloss.

All in all I love this blusher. Can't believe I have waited sooo long to buy it. This have definitely found a permanent place in my Make-Up bag.

Have you ever tried this blush? What did you think? Are there any other creme blushes you have used and liked? Let me know :) xx

April Favourites

Hey Guys,

Sorry this post is late. I've had a busy few days the past week. I've recently got a new job and its been non stop. Hopefully I can now get back to do my weekly blogs.

Here are my favourite products for the past month

Estee Lauder Pore Minimizing Lotion
This has been on my "wish list" for awhile so I thought I would take the plunge and buy a bottle. I won't go on too much about it as I will be doing a review on this shorty but since using this I have noticed a big difference in my skin tone. I use this in the morning after I've toned and before I apply my moisturiser. I love how my skin looks after I have applied it. Matt and smooth. It also provides a great base for my moisturiser. Love it:)

Nivea Daily Essential Moisturiser - Oily & Combination Skin
I've been using this moisturiser on and off for the past year. I don't know why I keep going away from it because as soon as I start using a different moisturiser my skin starts to play up. I think maybe I don't find it glamours enough. :) Its an oil free moisturiser which is great for my skin as i have oily/combination skin. Its soaks into my skin straight away and doesn't leave my skin looking or feeling greasy. It keeps my shine free and doesn't clog my pores. Its also acts as a great base for my Make-up which I struggle to find. It retails from £2.99 - £3.99. Its a great bargain.

Avon Ultra Colour Rich Mega Impact Lipstick - Really Rosy
This has to be my all time favourite lipstick. The colour lasts from when i apply it on a morning around 7ish till about lunchtime. Even if I eat during the morning the lipstick stays put. It has a lovely glossy finish and very moisturising for the lips. When this is on offer I try and stock up. Definitely can't be without this lipstick.

Avene Thermal Spring Water spray
I bought this after reading other bloggers reviews saying how good it is and I agree with them. I use this on my face after I have applied my Make-Up. I find it sets my Make-Up and provides me with a lovely dewy glow. I also use this during the day to freshen my skin when I find its looking abit dull and lacking abit of life. At £3.99 everyone should have a bottle in their Make-Up bag.

Lipcote
I love love love this. When I apply this over my lipstick it last for ages. It doesn't matter if I use a high end lipstick or a £1 lipstick. This works on everything.  If you want lipstick to last, use this.

What do you think of my April Favourites? Have you used any of them and what have you thought? Let me know :) xx
